May 1, 2026: Last week the CDS PhD students had our lightning research talk competition, thanks to student seminar organizers Freddy Rieber, Lingyi Xu, and Stella Si. We each had one slide for a two-minute talk and one-minute Q&A. My talk was titled "Call off your Techno Boy-Toy": Cybersecurity and privacy in the Pretty Little Liars novels vs. show.

The prizes for the competition were awarded today, and I won in two out of three categories! "Most entertaining speaker" and "out there and avant-garde." If you want to check out my slide from the talk, it's available here.
